♠️Blackjack

Objective: The objective of blackjack is to beat the dealer's hand without going over 21. A hand with a total value of 21 is called a "blackjack."

Card Values:

  • Numbered cards (2-10) are worth their face value.

  • Face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are worth 10 points each.

  • Aces can be worth 1 point or 11 points, depending on which value benefits the player more without going over 21.

Game Setup:

  1. A standard deck of 52 playing cards is used.

  2. Each player is dealt two cards, and the dealer also receives two cards.

  3. One of the dealer's cards is dealt face up (known as the "upcard"), and the other is dealt face down (known as the "hole card").

Player's Turn:

  • Players take their turns in clockwise order.

  • Players can choose from the following options:

    1. Hit: Receive an additional card to try to improve their hand's total value. Players can "hit" as many times as they like but must be cautious not to exceed 21 (bust).

    2. Stand: Keep their current hand without taking additional cards. Players typically choose to "stand" when they are satisfied with their hand or want to avoid busting.

    3. Double Down: Double their original bet and receive exactly one additional card. This option is typically chosen when players believe they have a strong hand.

    4. Split: If the first two cards are of the same rank (e.g., two 7s), players can choose to split them into two separate hands. Each hand is then played individually.

    5. Surrender (optional): Some casinos allow players to surrender, forfeiting half their bet and ending their hand.

Dealer's Turn:

  • Once all players have completed their turns, the dealer reveals their hole card.

  • The dealer must follow specific rules, which generally include hitting until their hand totals 17 or more and standing on a total of 17 or higher. These rules can vary by casino.

Winning and Payouts:

  • If a player's hand exceeds 21 (bust), they lose their bet.

  • If a player's hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand without busting, the player wins and is typically paid even money (1:1) on their bet.

  • If a player gets a blackjack (an Ace and a 10-value card), they usually receive a higher payout, often 3:2 on their bet.

  • If the player's hand and the dealer's hand have the same total value, it's a "push," and the player's bet is returned.
